Perhaps he didn't originate hate radio, but he certainly made it first acceptable, then profitable, and eventually fashionable to foment destructive and divisive behavior openly. For that long-term achievement in the dissolution of the American society into a morass of bitterly entrenched factions, he deserves all the vitriol that he encourages others to heap upon those whom he targets.
